Anxiety, Panic, Depression

A strengths-based and compassionate approach is used to support individuals with ADHD autism, dyslexia, sensory processing differences and other neurodiverse traits. Focus is placed on celebrating unique abilities while addressing challenges like emotional regulation, sensory sensitivities, and organization. Sessions provide practical tools and tailored strategies to support success in daily life.

Evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Executive Function Techniques, help clients develop routines, improve focus, and overcome procrastination. Incorporating neurodiversity-affirming practices, the work emphasizes self-compassion and empowerment, ensuring clients feel equipped to navigate relationships, school, and work with confidence.

Anxiety, panic, and depression are distinct experiences, yet they often intersect and influence one another, creating a cycle that can feel overwhelming. Anxiety may manifest as persistent worry, racing thoughts, or physical symptoms like tension or restlessness, while panic often strikes suddenly, triggering intense fear and physical sensations like a racing heart or difficulty breathing. Depression, on the other hand, is characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a loss of interest in activities that once brought joy. Each experience is unique but interconnected, as anxiety can fuel panic, and both can contribute to feelings of exhaustion or despair associated with depression.

Sessions focus on untangling these overlapping challenges, addressing the root causes of distress, and developing individualized strategies for relief. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), clients learn to identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, breaking the cycle between anxiety, panic, and depression.

For deeper emotional exploration, Psychodynamic Therapy examines unresolved conflicts that may underlie symptoms. Practical tools such as grounding exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness techniques are integrated to manage immediate physical symptoms and foster a greater sense of calm and control. The approach is compassionate and structured, empowering clients to navigate these challenges and regain emotional balance.

Strengthening family dynamics and addressing parenting challenges are essential for creating a harmonious and supportive home environment. I work collaboratively with families to improve communication, navigate developmental milestones, and resolve conflicts effectively.

Sessions often focus on building trust, fostering empathy, and creating actionable strategies that align with your family's unique needs.
Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, we explore how relationships within the family influence one another and identify patterns that may contribute to tension. Techniques like Parent Management Training provide caregivers with practical tools for managing challenging behaviours, while role-playing exercises and structured problem-solving help improve household interactions. Together, we’ll create a roadmap for stronger family bonds and effective parenting.

Grief is a deeply personal experience that extends beyond the loss of a loved one. It may include the loss of a loved one, relationship, identity, or other significant life changes. Support is offered to help clients process these emotions, honor what has been lost, and adjust to a new sense of normalcy while fostering resilience and hope for the future.

Using the Dual Process Model of Coping with Bereavement, sessions balance the emotional processing of grief with practical steps toward rebuilding life. Techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other evidence-based approaches provide a compassionate framework to help navigate the complexities of grief.

Victoria has completed the Certification Course: The Ultimate Grief Treatment Toolbox: Over 60 Interventions to Promote Healing & Hope Among Grieving Children, Adolescents & Adults, equipping her to offer tailored, effective support for individuals of all ages experiencing grief and loss.

Life transitions, whether planned or unexpected, often bring opportunities for growth alongside feelings of uncertainty and change. Support is provided to help individuals navigate significant milestones such as starting a new career, moving to a new place, adjusting to family changes, or rebuilding after a major life shift. The focus is on fostering clarity, creating actionable goals, and developing resilience as clients adapt to these new circumstances.

Sessions draw on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to identify strengths and focus on achievable, practical steps toward desired outcomes. This forward-looking approach helps clients envision and build the life they want, even during times of uncertainty. Combined with techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to align actions with personal values and encourage mindfulness, clients are empowered to redefine their goals, embrace new opportunities, and manage the stress of transitions with confidence and purpose.

Healing from trauma is a deeply personal process that requires a safe and supportive environment. Sessions focus on helping clients process distressing experiences, rebuild a sense of safety, and regain control over their lives. Support is tailored to address each individual’s unique journey toward recovery, ensuring that healing happens at a pace that feels manageable and empowering.

Evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and mindfulness-based practices are used to reduce the emotional intensity of distressing memories and promote emotional regulation. Somatic techniques are also incorporated to address how trauma impacts the body, fostering a holistic recovery that connects mind and body. The goal is to empower clients with tools to navigate the aftermath of trauma, restore a sense of self, and build long-term resilience.
